Securing students and teachers in schools is imperative. Parents have the credibility of your school safety. You should put effort into maintaining this trust and reputation for a long. But, what is the excellent way? School administrators must make financial allowances for creating and implementing strategies and programs to shield their teachers, students, and staff that have taken responsibility. Certain communication solutions, such as Motorola education radios, can help you fulfill this responsibility.
Have a look-

1. Buy Two-way Radios for Each Department or Staff

Administrators should calculate the number of staff employed and give access to their facility. Many schools have two-way radios in each department to convey messages, information, and of course, alertness during an emergency. There are more tasks, including contract work, parents’ meetings, annual functions, and inspections. They need hassle-free communication for proper coordination. These radios have good battery capacity and can run for a day continuously.

2. Build a Secured Room and Stock it with All of the Two-way Radio Chargers

Choose a small, locked room to store radios while being charged at night or when not in use. Maintaining this room and its elements accounts for distribution, management, and upkeep.

3. Mark Each Radio with a Number

Create a list of the present numbered locations in the facility. This list must include each numbered gymnasium, outdoor locations, classrooms, cafeterias, and more. If there is no assigned number for a location, excluding hallways, closets, restrooms, and different storage facilities, assign numbers and position them at the physical location to mark the radio with that number.

4. Develop a Master List on a Facility Layout Diagram

Use the same one provided to incoming staff and students to ensure all location numbers are available. Note the default channel on the diagram that the facility will use for communication. Further, make copies of this diagram and distribute them. Deliver one copy each to the local police department and fire department, and prominently display it in the administrative office for each department, from the cafeteria to medical staff and maintenance.
Affix one laminated copy to each entry or exit point in the facility to read it easily. Keep logs saved for the school for the whole year.

5. Provide Two-way radios to Staff During a Training Meeting

Organize a brief meeting with staff. Send radios based on the location to respective staff members. Explain the proper use of radio to attendees and the rules of two-way radio operation as follows-

Use two-way radio strictly to secure the facility and its residents.
Every individual must go to the locked room and check out a radio upon work arrival in the morning/afternoon/evening and return the radio instantly before leaving the facility.

The user must put down any items being carried except the radio and organize a thorough visual inspection of the workspace.
Two-way radios feature different qualities that users can learn easily and avail of public safety DAS systems to enhance school safety and become responsive during contingencies.
